The Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P) Grants are an Australian Government initiative designed to foster short-term, industry-led research collaborations. These grants aim to develop innovative products, services, or processes that address pressing industry challenges, particularly benefiting small and medium enterprises (SMEs). CRC-Ps emphasise education and training, ensuring that emerging talent is equipped to meet industry needs.

Key features
  1. Funding Support – Eligible projects can receive matched funding between $100,000 and $3 million, spanning up to three years.
  2. Collaborative Partnerships – Each project consortium must include:
    • At least two Australian industry entities (with at least one SME).
    • One Australian research organization.
  3. Project Scope – Funding can be utilized for:
    • New research initiatives.
    • Proof of concept activities.
    • Pre-commercialization of research outcomes.
    • Industry-focused education and training.
    • Information sharing and communication related to the research.

    • Transport
    • Medical science
    • Renewables and low-emission technologies
    • Defence capability
    • Enabling capabilities.

Round 18, launched on 25 August 2025, has a particular focus on robotics and automation.

Eligibility criteria

The Lead Applicant must be an Australian-registered industry entity with an Australian Business Number (ABN) and incorporated in Australia. Project Partners should comprise at least one SME and one research organization, both based in Australia.
