Business Research and Innovation Initiative (BRII) – Renewables and Low Emissions Round – Feasibility grant
The three challenges in this round of BRII focus on renewables and low emissions practices. The challenges are: increasing energy efficiency of commercial fishing operations; powering safe drinking water for Australian First Nations remote communities; alternative packaging for premium Australian wine.
Support early to mid-stage critical minerals projects that contribute to building end-to-end supply chains with Australia’s international partners in the critical minerals sector
Supporting mineral explorers in search of a range of metals and mineral elements in high demand for use in renewable energy and advanced technological applications.
Assists companies in developing products and services that can deliver efficiencies and increased productivity and increase the competitiveness of the Mining, Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector. Application closing dates for 2024 are: 5 March, 4 June and 3 September.
Provides up to $50 million to trade-exposed facilities to reduce their emissions and contribute to meeting Australia’s emissions reduction targets.
Supports green energy and greentech projects in Western Australia in support of a sustainable low carbon future.
Supports the development and deployment of renewable energy microgrids across regional Australia.
Builds the capability and competitiveness of tech-enabled entrepreneurs within the Hunter region, regardless of their affiliation to the University of Newcastle, across the sectors of clean energy, clean water, recycling and waste, supply chain, built environment, air quality, and transportation.
Program funding will support projects that align with the Queensland new-industry development strategy which aims to develop industries that will be in demand as the world decarbonises.
