The gemaker team helped the Ingham Institute to apply for a $2M grant from the Australian Government’s Medical Research Future Fund.
COVID-19 can damage the heart and cause cardiac arrhythmias, increasing the risk of stroke and heart failure. There are no validated models or guidelines for remotely monitoring the cardiac health of COVID-19 survivors who have returned home after hospitalisation.
To fill this critical gap and improve patient outcomes, funding is sought to trial an innovative, virtual healthcare model. They will combine two smart, wearable biosensor devices with telephone interviews conducted by artificial intelligence, to remotely monitor the cardiac health of 1,000 adults with COVID-19, post-hospitalisation, for up to three years.
gemaker provided strategic advice, assisted with the project plan, and wrote compelling responses to the selection criteria and other sections of the application.
